It is amazing to discover ancient pediatric treatments which involved the wrapping of newborns in narrow bands of cloth bound so tightly as to couse paralysis of their limbs during the first few months of their life.

Thanks to the advanced of medical science, babies today are no longer subjected to such torture; instead they are born free of any restraints upon leaving their mother's womb.

Their wardrobe however has changed little. Elegant skirts and bibs remain present in an infant's layette. And traditional hues of pink and blue, depending on their sex, still color the child's garments- colors which are easy to choose in advance nowadays with the contemporary use of sonograms that reveal the mystery during the first weeks of pregnancy.
